Anglesey GCSE results and other Level 2 qualifications 2024

ANGLESEY County Council has said that they would like to congratulate all learners on their achievements in this year’s GCSEs and other Level 2 qualifications.

We would like to wish all the young people the very best for the future and acknowledge the support they have received from their schools and families.

We would encourage all learners to seek advice and guidance on the wide range of post-16 learning opportunities available to them. We wish all our learners the very best in their chosen next steps!

Anglesey’s Education and Welsh Language Portfolio Holder, Councillor Dafydd Roberts, said: “I would like to congratulate all the young people on Anglesey who are receiving their results today. Whether going on to further education, or venturing into the world of work, I wish them all the best during this new and exciting period of their lives.’’

He added, “Thank you also to all our school staff, and the parents and families of these young people for supporting and guiding them during their studies.”

Congratulating the pupils on their success, Marc Berw Hughes, Anglesey’s Director of Education, Skills and Young People said: “I want to send my best wishes and thanks to everyone who receives their results today, as well as to your families for their steadfast support.”

“I hope you get the grades you hoped for to help you into the next stage of your life, be it staying at school, going to college, beginning an apprenticeship, or entering into work.”

“For those who are uncertain about what options and opportunities are available to them following their results, support and advice are available either through the school or through Careers Wales.”

‘’I would also like to thank the schools and the teachers for their hard work and dedication in preparing the students for this important chapter in their lives. Two of our secondary schools, Ysgol David Hughes and Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi, have faced disruption this year as a result of RAAC.

“Qualifications Wales and the examination authority, WJEC, have worked with these schools to agree on mitigations to attempt to offset the impact of the disruption on learners as much as possible.”
