A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the disovery of a body in Pontypridd on Wednesday (June 15).
At around 11am on Wednesday, the body of Steven John Davies was found at a property in Garth Avenue, Glyncoch.
Following a post-mortem, it has been concluded that the 39-year-old died from a fatal stab wound.
Police have confirmed that a 34-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The defendant is currently detained in Bridgend whilst the murder investigation is ongoing.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: “This is clearly a shocking and upsetting incident for the community of Glyncoch and the wider Pontypridd area.
“Our thoughts are with Steven’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”
Police are urging anyone who has details about the whereabouts of Steven between June 1 – 15 to get in contact. They believe that he may have spent some time in Rhydfelin.
