ON MONDAY (Aug 12) Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed that the body of a teenager discovered in a Welsh river is that of 15-year-old Holli Smallman from Welshpool.
Her body was located following an extensive search operation along the River Severn.
Officers were called to the scene near Welshpool on Friday, and a sombre update later confirmed that a body had been recovered at around 8pm.
A range of multi-agency teams, including Dyfed-Powys Police, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, HM Coastguard, and dedicated search and rescue units, participated in the extensive search efforts. Local residents were asked to avoid the search zones to ensure safety and the efficiency of the operation.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police expressed their condolences, stating: “Specialist officers are supporting the family, and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.”
