Fatboy Slim announces Big Beach Boutique II documentary

FATBOY SLIM has collaborated with Sky Original to create a documentary on his Big Beach Boutique II event on Brighton Beach in 2002.

The event on 13th July, 2002, was described as “the biggest outdoor celebration the UK has ever seen,” and was projected to gather a crowd of 40,000 people. However, more than 250,000 people attended, leaving organisers and police completely overwhelmed.

‘Right Here, Right Now,’ a feature-length documentary documenting the event, will premiere on Sky Documentaries on February 4th at 10pm GMT. It will include interviews with Fatboy Slim and several of the party’s organisers, as well as coverage of the challenges that occurred on the day, as well as resistance to the party from councillors and citizens.

“It has been wonderful with the fullness of time and some hindsight, to revisit such a seismic event in both mine and my hometown’s history,” Fatboy Slim, AKA Norman Cook, said. “Warts and all, the story told in full… Watch, sleep, rave, repeat.”
