Ceredigion waste collection service this festive season

The intention is to provide waste collections in Ceredigion as scheduled in the weeks surrounding Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

With the effects of wintry weather and illnesses upon us, it may be a challenging time to have all the resources we normally need to deliver the services.

Councillor Keith Henson, Ceredigion County Council Cabinet Member for Highways and Environmental Services, said: “As part of Caru Ceredigion, we really appreciate our residents’ ongoing support and understanding if, for whatever reason, services are disrupted.”

If for any reason we are unable to collect your waste, re-present it on your next scheduled collection day. You can check updates on disruptions in your area on the Council website: www.ceredigion.gov.uk/servicedisruptions

It’s never been easier to recycle from around the home. Remember, clean foil, cans, tins, cardboard, paper and most types of plastic can all go in your clear recycling bag collected weekly.

Food waste such as vegetable peelings, turkey bones, plate scrapings, tea bags, coffee grinds, and any out-of-date food can be put in your food waste bin.

The Council also collects glass from the kerbside, but if you have an abundance of glass you can also take it to a glass recycling bank or a Household Waste Site. For a full list of glass banks visit the recycling page on the Council’s website: www.ceredigion.gov.uk/recycling

Remember to recycle your real Christmas tree at a Household Waste Site or you can compost it at home.

Household Waste Sites will be open as usual apart from Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
