PLANS for new fencing at Cardigan’s Teifi Leisure Centre all-weather pitch have been given the go-ahead.
Rhidian Harries of Teifi Leisure Centre sought permission for the installation of replacement fencing and hardstanding areas to existing Artificial Grass Pitch development at the Park Place site.
The application, recommended for conditional approval at the December 11 meeting of Ceredigion County council’s development management committee, was unanimously backed.
The application was submitted for committee consideration t in accordance with the council’s scheme of delegation: “Any application submitted by, or on behalf of, or on land in the ownership of Ceredigion County Council for which the council has a direct interest.”
A report for planners stated: “The application seeks full planning permission for the erection of replacement fencing and the provision of hardstanding to the surrounds of the existing all-weather pitch. Hardstanding is proposed to three of the pitch’s four sides to facilitate spectator viewing, formed of porous macadam, including a goal storage area to its south-western end.
“Two new fences are proposed to each length of the pitch, providing a 1.2m fence to the immediate pitch surround and a new 3m fence to the surround of the hardstanding. The fences shall be twin bar and powder coated in green to match the existing.”
