LLANIGON resident Matthew Gardner is embarking on an extraordinary journey to walk the length of the UK along the “spine of Albion,” an ancient leyline connecting sacred sites and energy portals. Beginning on the Isle of Wight, his path will take him through the heart of England and Scotland, ending in Durness in the far north.
Starting on his 38th birthday, Friday (31 January), this journey is much more than a physical challenge. It is a deeply personal rite of passage, a grief ceremony, and an act of devotion. “This might look like a hike, but really it’s a community deepening, a regional awakening, and a walking prayer for our human family. It feels like a moment in life where I just know I must answer the call,” said Matthew.
Despite facing significant challenges, including a knee injury that may hinder his progress by the time he reaches Manchester, Matthew is determined to proceed, “There are plenty of reasons why this doesn’t make logical sense, but sometimes we have to let a greater love lead us. This is one of those moments,” he said.
Funds raised through his GoFundMe campaign will ensure Matthew is equipped for the journey, cover his personal expenses while away from home, and enable him to engage communities along the way. “By contributing, you’re not just helping me walk, you’re supporting a ripple of connection and reflection across Britain,” he explains.
Each contribution helps make this ambitious journey possible and supports Matthew’s vision of inspiring deeper connections across Britain.
