DYFED-POWYS POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision involving three vehicles near Welshpool on Saturday evening (November 16).
The crash occurred on the A483 at Belan at around 6:15pm and involved a red BMW X3, a blue Audi S4, and a white Toyota Yaris. The BMW and Audi were travelling northbound, while the Toyota was heading south.
Tragically, the driver of the Toyota Yaris was pronounced dead at the scene. A child passenger in the car sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital. Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that the next of kin have been informed, and the family is being supported by specially trained officers.
Two men arrested
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving. A second man, aged 33, has also been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
The road was closed overnight to allow specialist collision investigators to examine the scene. It reopened at 9:50am on Sunday (November 17).

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
