“STORM DUDLEY” is on course to hit the UK later today, with strong winds forecasted for North and Mid Wales.

A yellow weather warning will be in place from 15:00 GMT Wednesday until 06:00 on Thursday morning.

The Met Office weather warning forecasts 70mph winds (113km/hr) in Ceredigion, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Isle of Anglesey, Powys and Wrexham.

The warning says that the strong winds could cause damage to buildings, falling trees and power cuts.

Alongside the warning of strong winds, NRW has put 10 flood alerts in place for rivers across south, mid and north Wales.

The Flood alerts are in place on the Severn, Usk and River Wye in south and mid Wales and the Lower Dee in North Wales.
