A WOMAN from Ammanford has been confirmed to be the mother of Arthur Simpson-Kent, boyfriend to former EastEnders actress Sian Blake. Sian Blake’s body was found buried in the back garden of her Kent home alongside her two young children.
Mr Simpson-Kent’s mother, Selina Hoggett aged 78 and a resident of Ammanford, is believed to have left her home at Penybanc to travel overseas and spend winter in the sun.
A neighbour of Mrs Hogget explained: “She is never here for Christmas. She has told me she goes home for the sun but has never said where home is.”
Sian Blake, who formerly played Frankie Pierre in Eastenders, was found buried in the garden of her Kent family home along with her eight year-old Zachary and four year-old Amon on January 5.
The mother and her children disappeared on December 13 and police started investigations on December 16.
Police have confirmed that post-mortem examinations found the three had died from severe neck and head injuries.
Arthur Simpson-Kent was the suspect that police had been rigorously searching for after it was believed he fled to Africa after being interviewed by police on the day the three went missing.
Mr Simpson-Kent was found in Busua, Western Ghana, and is currently being held by police in Accra, Ghana after he was arrested at a beach resort on Saturday (January 9).
He is set to appear before a court in Ghana as police have to place a suspect before a judge if they are held for longer than 48 hours. An extradition request is yet to be made say police in the UK.
Sian Blake played the EastEnders character Frankie Pierre in 56 episodes of the popular BBC soap between 1996 and 1997.
If anyone has any further information that they believe could help the police with this matter, they are being urged to contact their nearest police station or to call the non-emergency number 101.
