Award winning community hall offers plenty

stjohnsST JOHN’S HALL in Pembroke Dock continues to offer a range of activities and facilities for the community into the New Year. Tuesday offers a lunch club for senior citizens, who can have a two course freshly cooked meal and a drink for £3. The group meet every Tuesday at 12 noon for 12.30. Afternoon events: 2-5pm is short mat bowls and 7-9pm lace club.

On Thursday’s 10 – 12 there is a coffee morning with the opportunity to purchase home- made cakes, scones and pastries. The cheeky cherubs club is open to all pre-school children and their parents/carers every Friday morning from 10am. There was even a recent visit from Santa himself, before the Christmas holidays began. In 2009, St John’s Community Hall was one of the first in Wales to be awarded the Queen’s commendation award recognising the outstanding contributions made to local communities by groups voluntarily devoting their time for the benefit of others.

St John’s received the award for its hard work in running a vibrant community centre with a team of dedicated volunteers who provide a range of activities to support all age groups within the community of Pembroke Dock.
