Bluestone launches academy

bluestone academyBLUESTONE National Park Resort has launched the Bluestone Academy, an ambitious project to support those aspiring to work in the hospitality and leisure industry.

The Bluestone Academy will recruit up to 10 people each year with the chance to gain 12 months experience within key areas of the luxury short break destination near Narberth, providing in-depth and paid experience, training and the chance to gain relevant qualifications.

The Academy is a great way for anyone looking to enter the hospitality or leisure industry to have a broad introduction while working for a great company, said Debbie Rainbow, HR Director at Bluestone.

Six employees have already commenced employment through the Academy. They’ll receive training and experience in key areas of the business, supported by a personal development plan and the chance to gain an NVQ qualification at the same time.

They will receive a salary, 30 days paid annual leave and access to Bluestone’s employee benefits scheme. If successful, members of the Academy will be offered full-time employment within a preferred department and advanced career development after 12 months.

The Bluestone Academy is an integral part of Bluestone’s ethos as being a sustainable local business. As one of West Wales largest employers with over 500 staff, it also uses local suppliers, producers and contractors wherever possible, injecting millions of pounds into the local economy annually.
