CANCER RESEARCH WALES would like to invite you to come and meet with them at Victoria Hall, Bryn Road, Lampeter on Tuesday, September 13, between 6.45pm and 9pm for a fascinating night of science and discovery.
Cancer Research Wales is celebrating 50 years of funding world-class research across Wales.
The charity ensures that all money raised is spent in Wales and annually spends over £1.5m.
Currently, it funds around 50 projects related to cancer prevention, early cancer diagnosis as well as new and improved treatments in the hospitals and universities across the Wales.
In the last 15 months, Cancer Research Wales has pledged an extra £2.6m for new cancer research projects, and as part of its anniversary year, the charity is hosting a series of science cafes across Wales.
D i s c o v e r how mutations cause cancer, and how scientists in Wales are training viruses to tackle malignancy.
Learn how genetics are being used to individualise cancer therapy and find out what cancer stem cells are and the role they play in making cancers more aggressive.
Talks and displays will also demonstrate the importance of the immune system in cancer and how the latest innovations in medical imaging and radiotherapy are improving treatments for cancer patients in Wales, and much more.
