FOUR to eleven-year-olds across Pembrokeshire are invited to go on a quest this summer as local libraries take part in the “Mythical Maze” Summer Reading Challenge.
The annual challenge encourages children to read six books during the summer holidays, with plenty of rewards and fun along the way. This year’s “Mythical Maze” theme promises a summer of adventure for children, who can sign up for free to take part at any library in the county. A range of free story time and activity sessions are also taking place at several libraries in Pembrokeshire. Ask at your local library for details of the nearest sessions. Children can log on to www. mythical-maze.org.uk and keep track of their progress online, rate books for other readers and get tips on what to read next. For the first time there’s also an app to accompany the challenge, which brings the amazing creatures of illustrator Sarah McIntyre to life. Take the challenge this summer and go on a quest to your local library.
