A FEARSOME red dragon puppet will spearhead the 2022 Dragon Parade in St Davids as schools, businesses, community groups and individuals march through the streets as part of the St David’s Day celebrations in Britain’s smallest city.
The parade, which is organised by Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre, will take place on Saturday, March 5 at 11am, offering the chance for people to attend in person, with the 2021 event having to take place online due to Covid-19.
Oriel y Parc Gallery Manager, Claire Bates said: “We are delighted that Small World Theatre will be bringing their giant Welsh dragon puppet to this year’s parade and Pembrokeshire samba band Samba Doc will be on hand to drum up a carnival atmosphere.
“We encourage everyone to get involved in some way, whether that’s by joining in the parade itself or lining the streets to show your appreciation for all the effort that will have gone into creating another assortment of amazing dragons.”
Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre in St Davids is owned and managed by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, working in partnership with Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales.
