Hall open after restoration

Restoration progressing well: Llangathen Village Hall
Restoration progressing well:
Llangathen Village Hall

A VILLAGE hall which has been extensively restored thanks to a number of donations is now available for hire.

Llangathen Village Hall is a beautiful Grade II listed hall just outside Llandeilo, near to Aberglasney gardens.

Thanks to The Big Lottery (people, places and awards for all Wales), The Millennium Trust, Carmarthenshire County Council and a very generous private donation, work is progressing well at the hall.

The kitchen has been completely stripped out, replastered and its reconstruction is well underway. The old rotten windows in the kitchen have been refurbished and reinstalled and the lobby has been plastered and painted. Toilets have been replaced and redecorated.

The Main Hall is looking stunning after being rewired, having new heating and lighting installed and being repainted. The stained glass has been taken away for repairs and the window frames and doors are also been repaired.

Organisers wish to give a big thank you to Cled Moses, his work force and everyone else involved for all that has been done – it’s great to see the hall looking so good.

Fundraising continues so that the group can carry on with the restoration but the hall is now available for hire.
