THIS January, Pembroke Dock Library will be offering the local community a chance to get fit, find a new hobby and learn new skills or to simply meet new people. Representatives from local clubs and organisations will be hosting drop in sessions as part of the Library life hub from January 2015. Some of the clubs included are Yoga, cycling and I.T skills.
There is also an exhibition and paintings currently in Pembroke Dock library, until Feb 2015. Featuring a variety of work by artists Benjamin Chaple Perrie and Susan Chaple. Susan is an Artist and Sculptor and Benjamin, her son who has Aspergers, is an animator and artist. Susan moved back to Pembrokeshire in 2003 and set up a new business in 2012 in hope of creating a drop in centre for young people who felt let down by the education system.
This was part of the Pembrokeshire Business Initiative Spirit of Enterprise project which offers support to traders going into self-employment. Susan said that Ben struggled with his education but praised Pembroke school autism centre and the enterprise project for giving them the opportunity to further their ambitions.
