THE JUNGLE found its way into Ammanford Library recently as one of the rooms was revamped for a half term showing of the Disney classic ‘ The Jungle Book’.
Every half term , the library is decorated for a themed activity week, where lego, crafts, treasure hunts and a film show are held. This Whitsun half-term saw a theme based around the jungle; staff donned jungle-themed costumes and Disney’s ‘ The Jungle Book’ was shown.
The original ‘ The Jungle Book’ was produced by Walt Disney Productions in 1967, and was the last film to be produced by Walt Disney, who died during its production. Based on Rudyard Kipling’s ‘ The Jungle Book’, the animated film follows a feral child named Mowgli, who befriends a panther and a bear in the Indian jungle.
April 15 saw the 2016 remake of the popular Disney film be released, featuring a cast of famous actors and actresses such as Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito and Christopher Walken, who voice a number of colourful characters in the fantasy adventure.
The film became a commercial and critical success and also the third highest-grossing film of 2016, grossing over $934 million at the Box Office.
