NIA GRIFFITH MP has congratulated two members of the Glanymor & Tyisha History Group on the release of the group’s recent book.
An event was held at Bethania Chapel, off Cornish Place in Glanymor, to mark the occasion and was well attended by members of the Glanymor & Tyisha History Group, local residents, pupils of both Ysgol Penrhos and Maes y Morfa school and local elected representatives.
Nia Griffith MP said: “I am delighted to be able to attend this great event to celebrate the works of Benita and Will and would like to congratulate them on the release of their most recent book. I would also like to thank them and other members of the History Group for their contribution to Llanelli and for bringing to light the fascinating history of both Glanymor and Tyisha.”
Councillor Suzy Curry, who represents Tyisha at county level, added: “I am incredibly pleased to have witnessed the launch of the most recent edition of Benita and Will’s work. Councillor Andre McPherson and I would like to thank them for their great contribution to the exposition of the history of Tyisha and its residents over the decades. They have been the driving force behind these books and we wish them well following their decision to stand down from their respective roles with the History Group.”
