WOLFSCASTLE over 60s club will ‘go from strength to strength’ after receiving Big Lottery funding.
The club were awarded almost £5,000 under the Awards for All scheme, which aims to support community activity by extending access and participation, increasing skills and creativity, and generally improving the quality of life for people in their local communities.
The cheque was presented to the group by local AM Paul Davies, who said: “I was delighted to present the Wolfscastle over 60s club with a cheque for almost £5,000, which I understand, will be used to organise a series of educational visits to local and national places of interest during the coming year.
“The Wolfscastle over 60s club now has more than 30 members and with this funding, it can continue to go from strength to strength. I’ve been fortunate to have visited the club on numerous occasions and I’d therefore urge any older people living in Wolfscastle to join the group as it’s a fantastic way to socialise and meet new people.”
