Plenty of ‘paws in the park’!

pawsTHE ANNUAL ‘Paws in the Park’ fun day was held at Scolton Manor Country Park recently, with more than 150 dogs and some 450 people joining in the fun.

Organised by Pembrokeshire County Council, the event consisted of dog agility demos and classes, children’s entertainment, various activities, and numerous stands.

The Pedigree and Novelty dog show classes were full to bursting with excited dogs and owners alike. In all classes, first, second and third positions received rosettes.

The Best in Show trophy was won by Dai the Dachshund (owner Glenda Lewis) while the Best Puppy in Show trophy was won by Twix the Papillon (owner Amy Williams) and the Best Rescued Dog trophy was won by Lily the Staffy cross (owner Dru Griffiths). The winners were all presented with a photo of themselves and their dog receiving their trophy.

Aberporth and District Dog Club carried out Agility and Rally-o demonstrations throughout the day and encouraged owners and their dogs to ‘Have a go’.

There were various charitable and trade stands, and a bouncy castle and pony rides for the children to enjoy.
