Pupils take part in biology challenge

biology tesYSGOL BRO GWAUN pupils from Year 9 and 10 have recently successfully participated in the National Society of Biology Challenge. The online challenge tested students general biology knowledge and encouraged a wider interest in natural history and biological media coverage. Congratulations are extended to all who took part and especially to the following pupils who excelled in their subject knowledge: Craig Barnett, Kirstie Williams, Rhys Shaw, Chloe Gallacher, Nia Evans, Zachary Davies, Isabelle Davies, Alicia Creed, Jac Thomas, Jasmin Reynolds, Kiera Morris who all received commended certificates. Zena Rowson, Kieran OíConnor and Morgan Griffiths received highly commended certificates. Year 12 and 13 biology students also participated in the National Society of Biologyís Olympiad. The students were given opportunity to expand their ëAí level syllabus knowledge in a test designed to enhance their interest in this valuable, wide ranging subject and to encourage continued higher educational study. The following pupils are congratulated for their excellent efforts: Morgan Edmonds and Abigail Hruzik ñ highly commended; Sam Hurst, Ben Lawrence, Isabel Johns commended.
