VISITORS to Dafen Park in Llanelli are being invited to take a closer look at nature.
New signs have been put up to encourage people to discover more about some less obvious natural features there such as ivy and bark.
Visitors can also use their smart phones to find out more through the QR codes on the signs.
Carmarthenshire County Council’ s biodiversity officer Isabel Macho said: “In nature the small stuff matters! When we really start to notice the little things, a whole new world opens up to us.
“Mosses, lichens and fungi are often overlooked but without them our lives would not be the same.”
Executive board member for biodiversity Cllr Pam Palmer added: “It is hoped that the signs situated throughout the park will help people find out about the importance of some often overlooked species and habitats.
“By using the QR codes you can discover more facts about features such as bark, soil and ferns – you’ll be amazed at what you can find out.”
