Although originally from Tenby, Deano was well loved throughout the whole of Pembrokeshire, with tributes coming from all parts of the county.

Tenby AFC paid a speacial tribute to Deano, in a statement they said: “We were devastated to hear the sad news over the weekend, Deano was a well known, well liked & well respected member of the community and he will be greatly missed by many.”As a club we would like to send our sincere condolences to his boys, his family & his friends, our thoughts are with you all at this sad time.”Please donate generously in such heartbreaking circumstances.”

A childhood friend said: “This is how you will always be remembered – The life and soul of the party, and I’m sure nobody will disagree with me on this one…

“It’s taken many hours (and many pints in the bush) to even accept this, let alone begin to get my head around it, I promise to always watch over your boys like you always watched over every single person you came in contact with.

“Fly high brother! A true legend, Tenby will undoubtedly never be the same again.”

Friends have set up a Just Giving page to raise funds to help pay for Deano’s funeral.

In just 24 hours, the £3,000 target has been smashed, with the total raised now standing at £10,568 (Correct at time of printing, June 7).

On the fundraising page, they said: ” We all know Deano as a happy go lucky fella, who was always up for a laugh. Loved to be with his friends and was a big softy.

“He worshiped his beautiful children, an it is such a shame no one new how sad he really was.
“Im thinking if all of us chucked a few quid in towards funeral costs or arrangements it may help his family at such a rough time. Or even leave dean’s children with some money.” If you would like to donate to the fundraising appeal, please follow the link https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/mellissa-cromwell?utm_term=5w5zNDmNw
