A RECENT wedding showcase held at Stradey Castle was such a success that organisers hope to make it an annual event.
Featuring more than 50 exhibitors, from barbers to bridal catwalks, more than 200 came to revel in the idyllic surroundings and pick up some helpful hints for planning their big days.
Claire and her husband Sir Patrick Mansel Lewis, proprietors at Stradey Castle, gave a warm welcome to all visitors who revelled in the Wedding Fayre set in idyllic grounds. The entire family were ‘the hosts with the most’ throughout the day!
The castle itself provided a breathtaking backdrop for the showcase, and all of the exhibitors displayed their wares to full effect. The marquee and its contents were a sight for sore eyes on their own. Every element of the day was planned perfectly and each visitor left with extended knowledge for their nuptials plus one or two goody-bags.
With two catwalks showcasing professional models, there was plenty of scope at this lavish event to plan anyone’s perfect day. Award-winning, international make-up artist Farhana Ali displayed her talent through the model’s flawless appearances.
Attending as a reporter, I soon got used to stallholders asking me when the ‘big day’ was. My answer, ‘not any time soon’, caused a few giggles. I was offered a bubbly prosecco and told to ‘make myself at home’.
The primary organiser was Sir Edward Mansel Lewis, Claire and Patrick’s eldest son, who had the full backing of his parents, siblings and bride-to-be Nia, who he will marry in May.
As a family, they’ve merged with Edward’s vision at Stradey Castle’s first ever wedding promotional event.
Speaking to The Herald, Edward said: “I was initially nervous at the prospect of such a big event, as the day has drawn closer I know we as a family have made a rewarding decision all-round!
“Had it not been for the support and backing of my parents, this event would not have been possible. I’ve no future reservations; hopefully this can be an annual event here at Stradey Castle.”
Stradey Castle is also a highly-regarded wedding venue. To find out more information visit www. stradeycastle.com, or phone 01554 774626.
