Wilko offers a helping hand

helping handTEAM MEMBERS at the Wilko store, situated on Pier Road, Pembroke Dock, are offering a helping hand to community groups and charities in the area that need extra support with local projects. Whether the project benefits young people, families or the elderly, Wilko is appealing to anyone who is passionate about their local community to get involved and apply for a donation.

People living within the Pembroke Dock area will be able to apply to the store for a monetary donation, Wilko products or team members can volunteer their time, as they are also keen to roll up their sleeves to support neighbourhood developments. Mike Flynn, store manager at Wilko in Pembroke Dock, said:

“The Helping Hands scheme is an initiative where funding is provided to support local projects, directly benefitting the lives of people who live and work close to the store.

“As a company, it’s great to be able to help local community groups and charities by giving something back to the area, whether it’s seeds to help a community garden bloom or paint for a local animal shelter, we are able to help.”

Application forms can be collected from the store and once completed, forms should be returned to the store’s help desk. Successful applicants will be notified within three months of submission. Wilko stores in Haverfordwest, Carmarthen and Llanelli are also offering support to local projects as part of the Helping Hands scheme.
