P&O Ferries cancels sailings ahead of ‘major announcement’

P&O Ferries, the main operator between Dover and Calais has suspended all sailings ahead of a “major company announcement”.

This morning the company released a statement saying “P&O Ferries is not going into liquidation.

“We have asked all ships to come alongside, in preparation for a company announcement.”

“Until then, services from P&O will not be running and we are advising travellers of alternative arrangements.”

P&O has said on Twitter that ferries between Dover and Calais scheduled for 11:10am, 11:15am and 12:35pm will not run, and those with tickets have been instructed to check-in with rival ferry company DFDS’ services.

With all P&O Ferry services across the UK suspended until the announcement is made, it’s advisable to all who expected to travel via one of their routes today to check ahead as major disruption is expected at ports across the country.

The Herald understands that hundreds of crew members of P&O Ferries have had their contracts terminated as of today.

This is not expected to affect a Herald ‘Aid for Ukraine’ campaign from going ahead as alternate travelling arrangements have now been made.
