Ashmole & Co celebrate 125th anniversary with all staff walking up Pen y Fan to raise funds for Wales Air Ambulance

TO CELEBRATE Ashmole & Co’s 125th anniversary, staff from across the accountancy firm’s south and mid Wales offices will be swapping their calculators for walking boots next month to hike up Pen y Fan in aid of Wales Air Ambulance.

With thirteen offices spread across mid and south Wales, approximately 100 staff including Partners from Ashmole & Co, are currently in training to take on Pen y Fan, the highest peak in south Wales, situated in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Jim Cornock, Partner with Ashmole and Co said, “Ashmole & Co is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and we wanted to mark the occasion with an event that everyone can get involved with. Some will run up, others will walk but we’ll all work together to get everyone to the summit. It’s important to us that we also support a worthwhile charity at the same time. Everyone we speak to knows someone who has been helped by the Welsh Air Ambulance Service. We hope our clients and friends will help us raise as much money as possible through collections for this extremely worthy cause.”

According to the history books Ashmole & Co was created as a partnership in 1897. Over the years the name has had slightly different variations depending on whereabouts in south Wales you were a client. The firm has considerably grown since 1897 to become one of Wales’ largest accountancy firms. Originally there was just one large main office in Swansea which concentrated on providing an accountancy service to the coal mining industry.

Any donations to support Ashmole & Co’s fundraising for their walk which is taking place on 30 September 2022, would be very gratefully received. You can donate on the Just Giving page, or you can donate directly to any member of staff or at any office.

Katie Macro, Wales Air Ambulance Campaign Manager, said, “Wales Air Ambulance is funded by the people of Wales; we rely entirely on the public’s support to help keep the helicopters flying. The charity does not receive direct funding from the government and we also fail to qualify for National Lottery funding. The money is therefore raised through charitable donations, fundraising events and membership of our in-house Lifesaving Lottery. We are grateful to Ashmole & Co for choosing to support us.”
