A PONTYPOOL man has received a sentence of two-and-a-half years in prison after he was found supplying quantities of amphetamines.
Dale Pearce, 37, appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday 28 January after he pled guilty to one count of being concerned in the supply of amphetamine and two counts of being concerned in the supply of a class C drug.
His involvement in supplying amphetamine was uncovered after officers seized the phone of another drug dealer during a warrant, who was being supplied by Pearce.
PC Rhys Jones, the officer in the case, said: “Pearce may appear to be a middle man in the drug supply operation, but he played a significant role in supplying vast quantities of amphetamines.
“This significant sentence indicates that drugs have no place in our society.
“Drugs often ruin lives and exploit vulnerable members of our community; they often lead to other forms of criminal activity.
“We will continue to target those whose criminal activities blight the lives of communities across Gwent, bringing people before the courts and removing drugs from our streets.

Pearce received a sentence of two-and-a-half years – or 30 months – in prison and will be subject to a Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearing at a later date.
