Milford Haven man returns to Pembrokeshire for Homecoming show

APRIL’S comedy offering at The Queens Hall in Narberth sees the return to the county of a Milford Haven man who has been making waves on the UK comedy circuit.

David Arnold, a former manager at the bingo halls in Milford & Pembroke Dock and now living in Plymouth, will be opening the show at the event on April 7.

You might recognise his surname too as David is the son of comedy king of yesteryear Roger Arnold who was well known locally as one half of comedy duo Knight & Daye and also under his alter-ego Selwyn on Radio Pembrokeshire’s Sunday morning show.

Speaking of his father David said “Dad had such a great career in entertainment and was loved by audiences throughout the county, to be able to follow in his footsteps is a dream come true and I know he’d be so proud of how far I’ve come”.

It’s safe to say the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree as David has been a firm favourite of audience goers in the Westcountry and beyond, with a smiley, excitable delivery style that has everyone in stitches.

In his ten years on the circuit he has shared the stage with some of the biggest names, performed at world-renowned festivals and even starred in a summer season in Torquay! Last year was a real breakout year – he was filmed for a Channel 5 documentary, performed at the London Palladium and was crowned winner of the British Comedian of the Year for the South West Region.
