HYBU CIG CYMRU – Meat Promotion Wales – has highlighted the health and nutrition benefits of Welsh red meat in the prominent children’s magazine Healthy Child with Dr Ranj Singh.
Healthy Child with Dr Ranj Singh magazine, which is aimed at parents and families, has featured articles and information about Welsh red meat’s health credentials and its role in a healthy diet and lifestyle.
The quarterly magazine is sold in WH Smith stores and can also be found in many doctors’ surgeries and dentist waiting rooms across Great Britain. It is aimed at parents of young children and covers a range of health and social topics relating to children.
Information about Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef’s nutrients, including natural protein, B vitamins, zinc and iron, has also been included in a corresponding newsletter that reaches over 155,000 subscribers. Social media posts and a competition to win a Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef hamper have also formed part of the partnership, as have digital adverts that will receive 93,000 views in the space of a month.
As well as covering healthy recipe ideas such as Welsh Beef Chow Mein and Welsh Lamb Lettuce Cups, the article and content also reflect the natural and ethical way in which Welsh red meat is produced, utilizing natural grass and rainwater to create a nutritionally dense and great-tasting protein.
HCC’s Campaign Executive, Philippa Gill, commented: “We were really pleased to promote the nutritional benefits and excellent quality which Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef boast. This partnership has formed an important part of our consumer campaign work, ensuring that families and parents can receive factual information about Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef from credible sources like the Healthy Child magazine.”
The partnership comes during the wider Welsh Lamb: Experts in their Field campaign, which was launched earlier this year at the Royal Welsh Show and is running until the end of October. The campaign features television advertising on Sky, ITV and S4C as well as print and digital advertising, promoting Welsh Lamb as a high-quality, sustainable product across Wales and parts of England.
