SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, has hit out at the appointment of an interim Health Minister for Wales.
Mr Rowlands, Shadow Health Minister, was commenting after the new leader of the Welsh Labour Government appointed former First Minister and Health Minister Mark Drakeford to the role, on an interim basis.
He said: “I really am surprised that Eluned Morgan has only appointed an interim Health Minister, given the huge challenges facing the Welsh NHS.
“Let us also not forget that Mr Drakeford was Health Minister when Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board was put into special measures in 2015, and the Health Board hasn’t recovered since.
“It really beggars’ belief and is certainly not good news for patients who are already suffering thanks to the lack of investment in the NHS in North Wales.”
