ANGLE progressed to the next round of the Senior Cup as they came from behind to beat Pennar Robins 2-1 on Saturday (Jan 3). The Robins went ahead in the fi rst half but two goals in the second half put Angle through. The home side started brightly and were rewarded with a goal in the fifteenth minute. A long throw in caused chaos in the area but Gareth Lewis eventually stabbed the ball home from fifteen yards to give the Robins the advantage. They continued to play well but could not fi nd another goal and the half ended with the score still 1-0.

Angle came out in the second half looking to get back in the game and twenty minutes in they were level. Craig Brockway put Lee Brockway through on goal and he slotted the ball under Robins’ keeper Stuart James and into the net. Angle continued to dominate and with seven minutes to go Ben Adams scored from the penalty spot to give his side a deserved lead. The visitors held on to progress to the next round of the Senior Cup.

Pennar Robins will look to bounce back from this defeat when they take on bottom club Saundersfoot Sports on Saturday (Jan 10). Angle will be looking for another win as they take on Champions Hakin United in the league. Pennar Robins: Stuart James, Ross Lascelles, Jimmy Walker, Richard Hughes, Gareth Lewis, Adam John, Adam Cole, Phil Thompson, Ben Steele, Jimmy Russell, Sam Southcott. Subs: Dean Scourfi eld, Carl Rees, Dean Driscoll.
