Astounding response to find a racing driver

astounding responseWEST WALES international racing driver and professional instructor Tim Matthews has described the initial response to the SVG promotions launch of their Formula Dragon event last Thursday.

“We have been astounded by the reaction to our Formula Dragon launch last week and we have already had hundreds of enquiries from people interested in becoming a racing driver for SVG Racing. It has been very gratifying to see that the residents of Wales are showing so much interest in motor racing.

“Within the next three weeks we will be announcing all of the championships throughout the UK and Europe in which we intend to compete and we very much hope that we can produce a Welsh motor racing champion in the next 12 months.”

Formula Dragon is a motor sport competition open to every resident of Wales aged between 16 and 50 with the chance to become a professional BTCC driver, mechanic or technician. It is open to every resident of Wales aged between 16 and 50. It is aimed at providing an opportunity for members of the public to become racing drivers, mechanics or technicians within three levels of UK motor racing.

Ultimately any successful competitors will compete in the British Touring Car Championship supported by a Welsh team. Formula Dragon will run according to all UK MSA rules and regulations.

Formula Dragon is organised and managed by SVG Promotions Limited. Whilst most will not be familiar with this name, many will remember a program called “So You Want To Be An F1 Driver” which was aired on Channel Five, Sky Sports and ITV’s Men and Motors.

This very same program was delivered by staff now involved with SVG Promotions Limited and Formula Dragon is simply an extension of the experience gathered from this and the successful running of race teams in The World Thoroughbred Grand Prix Championship.

SVG Promotions are still very keen to talk to any company interested in supporting their search for a Welsh racing driver. Technical Director Tony Holmes can be contacted on 07929362553.
