THE Bluebirds remained unbeaten this season as they produced a dominant performance to brush aside Cwmbran Celtic on Saturday.

Strong winds made playing conditions difficult but with that behind them the Bluebirds took full advantage.

Luke Borelli, playing just his second game for the club, scored with a dipping shot which gave the Celtic keeper no chance. Just seven minutes later the Blues doubled their lead thanks to a brilliant solo effort from Tim Hicks. The third goal came on the half hour mark when Luke Borelli tapped in a cross for his second goal of the game.

Chris O’Sullivan added a fine fourth in the second half with a curling free kick from just outside the penalty area. That brought the scoring to a close but Celtic let their tempers boil over in the final stages of the game as they had two men sent off.

It could have been five but Richie Lewis saw his stunning effort crash against the bar. The Blues had a goal disallowed for offside but they could not find any further goals.

The win, coupled with defeat for Taffs Well, means the two sides are level on points at the top of the table but crucially the Bluebirds have two games in hand.

This Saturday the Blues are at home to Caerau Ely, kick-off 2.30.
