Blues hold on for win over battling Neyland

HAVERFORDWEST earned victory over Neyland on Saturday (Oct 8) but the Pembrokeshire All Blacks fought back well in the closing stages to earn a bonus point.

The Blues dominated for much of the first half and built up a 0-17 lead.

There was a yellow card to a Neyland player and after play was halted whilst a supporter was shown a red car and escorted from the field, the Blues added another try for a 0-24 lead.

In the second half, the Blues were reduced to 14 and it looked like Neyland were on for a try but a pass wasn’t taken and the ball went out.

However, from the resulting lineout, Neyland won possession and worked their way towards the try line once more. The Blues defended well but Neyland kept the pressure and were evenutally rewarded with their first try. The conversion from George Evans was just short.

The Blues attacked with the advantage and after a knock on 5 metress out, play was brought back for an earlier offside. From the resulting scrum, the Blues pushed forward and Lee SUmmons dived over in the corner to score the try. The conversion from Owain Roberts was just wide.
