Llanrhian (8 pts) 225-8 lost to St Ishmaels (29 pts) 226-7 by 3 wkts ST ISHMAELS Peter Bradshaw fell three runs short of a century as he helped his side see off a good challenge from Llanrhian on Saturday.
Gareth Davies had earlier scored a superb century as Llanrhian scored 225 for 8. He and Ben Jones gave their side a great platform as they shared a 118-run opening stand. Jones fell for 48 when he was bowled by Jonathan Pawlett but Davies pushed on towards a century. But he did not receive much support as only one other batsman made it into double figures, Matthew Bennet with a score of 11. Davies was eventually bowled by Andrew Pawlett for a knock of 108 which include 12 fours and a six. Jonathan and Andrew Pawlett were the pick of the bowlers as they finished with three wickets each. St Ishmaels made a slow start in their reply and were reduced to 69 for 3. But a stand of 103 between Peter Bradshaw and Andrew Williams took them towards their total. Williams scored 41 before he fell to Luke Jones for one of his four wickets. Bradshaw was only three runs short of a century when he was stumped by Ben Jones off the bowling of Gareth Davies. His knock of 97 included eight fours and five sixes. Andrew Pawlett scored 16 while Matthew Phillips finished not out on 16 to help his side reach their target.
