Cardis brush aside Pembroke in cup

Cardigan 50
Pembroke 12

cardiganIT WAS a case of undefeated plays winless as Pembroke travelled to Cardigan for their Pembrokeshire knock out cup game. Pembroke, sitting in second place in division 3 West B would be missing a few players, but would have wanted to use this game as a marker of the difference in quality between Division 3 West B and Division 2 West.

Missing key players the Scarlets lost out in the physical battle with the Cardis, whose high intensity at the contact area was clearly noticeable. Pembroke’s two tries came in the second half from Gianluca Tremarco and outside half Rhys Johns, one converted by Shaun Dalling. For the Tivysiders, Dorian Butler touched down for four tries as hooker Aled Meredith, Marcus Castle, Aaron Tomkinson and Alun Jenkins all joined him on the score sheet also touched down, Llyr Tobias converting five of them.

Pembroke travel the short distance next Saturday to Pembroke Dock, as the two face off in one of Pembrokeshire’s most fierce rivalries. Cardigan travel to Penlan, looking for their first league win after this confidence booster.
