Cresselly hit 300 before game abandoned

CRESSELLY became the latest side to hit 300 runs on Saturday (Jun 4) but their game with Pembroke Dock was abandoned because of the rain.

Cresselly won the toss and chose to bat and they made a brilliant total of 331-6, thanks mainly to Matthew Morgan who carried his bat to finish unbeaten on 152.

He had good support from Simon Cole who hit three fours and a six in his score of 32 and Daniel Sutton who also hit three fours and a six in his score of 23.

Adam Chandler scored 17 (1 four, 1 six) before being run out by Anton John while Charlie Arthur hit two sixes in a score of 19 before falling to the bowling of Jake Davies.

Morgan and Ryan Lewis shared the best partnership of the game as they smashed 118 runs for the sixth wicket.

Lewis cracked four fours and six sixes as his score of 67 came off just 28 balls. He was eventually stumped by Scott Griffiths off the bowling of Rhys Daley.

The show belonged to Morgan though who hit 23 fours and 1 six in his score of 152 from 131 balls.

The Dock reached 40-1 in their reply with Jake Davies unbeaten on 28 but the game was ended by the rain.

On Saturday, June 11, Cresselly host Neyland while Pembroke Dock host Haverfordwest.
