Cresselly too good for Llangwm

CRESSELLY moved into third place in Division 1 on Saturday (May 25), as they proved too strong for opponents Llangwm in a seven-wicket win.

Llangwm batted first but after some good bowling found themselves all out for 156. Cresselly then eased to their target with Dan Sutton in good form.

Richard Brock top scored for the visitors with 26 runs while Ollie Davies and David Lewis both made scores of 19 late on.

Llangwm’s batsmen had no answer to the bowling of Josh Lewis who finished with excellent figures of 5-45.

Ryan Lewis (1-19), Sam Harts (1-24) and Mike Shaw (1-26) also chipped in with wickets for the home side.

Dan Sutton then got Cresselly going in their reply as he scored 87 while Phil Williams also scored 26.

Ollie Davies picked up a wicket while Joe Phillips bowled well to come away with figures of 2-13.

However, Alex Bayley finished not out on 20 to see Cresselly over the line for their third win of the season.

The win sees them pick up 30 points while Llangwm claimed four points for their part.

On Saturday (Jun 1), Cresselly are at home to Burton while Llangwm host Neyland.
