Croesyceiliog edge past Neyland in Youth Bowl

CROESYCEILIOG Youth secured their place in the quarter finals of the WRU National Youth Bowl on Sunday (Feb 27) as they beat Neyland 7-0.

It was a keenly contested match with the visitors’ power ultimately proving too strong for the young All Blacks.

The only try of the game came in the first half as Marc Hope finished off an excellent move. Aedan Wiltshire added the conversion.

Neyland had a chance to score with a penalty but the windy conditions made his kick difficult and saw his effort go wide.

The home side also went close in the second half, being held up on one occasion before choosing to go for a try when within kicking distance which ultimately saw them come up short.

Croesyceiliog will now look forward to their quarter final tie against the winners of the third round game between Rumney and Pontyclun, who play this Saturday (March 5).

The quarter finals are scheduled to take place a week after on Saturday, March 12.
