Derby spoils for Pembroke

PEMBROKE took the derby spoils on Saturday (May 4) as they beat rivals Pembroke Dock by 99 runs.

Before the game began, a minutes silence was held in respect of Brian Phillips, father of Pembroke players Nigel and Aidy Phillips, who sadly passed away.

Pembroke batted first and made a good score of 196-3 from their innings.

Jack Harries batted well for the home side as he scored 40 while Andrew Hay top scored with 73 runs.

Phil Hay also played well as he finished not out on 60 to leave the Dock chasing 197 to win the game.

Nic Daley (1-43) and Billy Wood (1-40) were amongst the wickets for the Dock but it wasn’t enough to keep the score down.

The Dock then struggled in their reply as Peter Kingdom top scored with 22 and Daley added 17.

Paul White finished with excellent figures of 3-14 as did fellow bowler Jonathan Rogers who had figures of 3-15.

The win gives Pembroke 29 points and puts them in third place in the table after two rounds of games.

The Dock gained just three points for their efforts as they slipped to sixth in Division 2.
