Division 2: Burton go top after beating Llechryd

BURTON moved to the top of Division 2 on Saturday (Jun 25) as they beat previous leaders Llechryd by nine wickets.

Llechryd won the toss and chose to bat first but they were bowled out for just 157.

Tomos Lewis scored 37 while John Curran finished not out on 68 after hitting six fours and a six.

They were the only two batsmen to make it into double figures for Llechryd as Burton also claimed three run-outs.

Robert Webb was the pick of the bowlers for Burton as he took 3-30 while Dan Ridge claimed 2-24 and Harry Owen finished with figures of 1-27.

In reply, Rhys Beard took the wicket of Toby Hayman early on but they were unable to find any further wickets.
