Division 2: Llanrhian beat the rain and Carew seconds

LLANRHIAN were the biggest winners in Division 2 on Saturday (Jun 18) as they beat Carew seconds by 145 runs.

Carew won the toss and chose to field but they saw Llanrhian score 209 before bowling them out.

Ben Jones scored 50 for Llanrhian and Tom Clarke added 67. Dafydd Williams finished unbeaten on 37.

Corey Hall was the pick of the bowlers for Carew as he took three wickets while Barry Evans and Scott Richards both claimed two each.

Carew though were unable to match Llanrhian’s score as they were eventually bowled out for 64.

Richards scored 17 and Evans scored 19 but it wasn’t enough to stop Llanrhian’s bowlers.

Clarke made it an excellent all-round display as he took four wickets to finish with figures of 4-11.

Jack Jones and Llion Williams both claimed two wickets to help Llanrhian seal a big win.

It gives them 20 points which moves them up to fifth place in the Division 2 table.

On Saturday, June 25, Llanrhian travel to Pembroke while Carew seconds visit Hook.

Elsewhere, third plays first as Burton host Llechryd, Herbrandston host Whitland while Lamphey face Johnston.
