ST CLEARS kept the pressure on Division 2 leaders Kilgetty on Tuesday night as they beat Pennar Robins seconds 13-0.
The win for the Saints moves them nine points behind Kilgetty with five games left to play. Leaders Kilgetty have three games left.
Nick Squire put the Saints ahead after four minutes and Sam Nicholas doubled their lead six minutes later.
They were forced into an early change though with Squire going off to be replaced by Steve Thomas.
It didn’t take him long to get involved as he scored just two minutes after coming on, making it 3-0 to the hosts.
Nathan Evans then made it four before goals from Jon Seeley, a second from Evans and three more goals from Thomas completed an excellent first half for the Saints.
In the second half, Nicholas scored his second before Evans completed his hat trick.
Pennar were awarded a penalty but Scott Newton made a good save to keep his side’s clean sheet in tact.
He went on to score twice more late on to complete the scoring and to seal the Saints thirteenth win of the season.
On Thursday, April 14, St Clears travel to Monkton Swifts seconds.
Then on Saturday, April 16, St Clears travel to Hakin United seconds while Kilgetty are away to Merlins Bridge seconds.
