Division 3 Cup: Clarbeston Road seconds to play Goodwick United seconds in final

CLARBESTON ROAD seconds will play Goodwick United seconds in the final of the Division 3 Cup after both sides won their respective semi-finals on Saturday (Apr 23).

Clarbeston Road beat Camrose 3-0 in their game with Richard Bevan putting them ahead in the 19th minute.

Jack Wood then scored with just over 20 minutes to go and Matthew Griffiths scored six minutes later to seal Clarby’s place in the final.

The other semi-final saw Goodwick United seconds beat Tenby 3-2 on penalties after their game had finished 3-3 after extra time.

Jerome Mansbridge put Tenby ahead in the first half and in the second half Goodwick’s Nigel Delaney and Tenby’s Chris Millward were sent off in the space of four minutes.

Goodwick then equalised through Chris O’Sullivan but Tenby regained the lead when Mansbridge scored his second of the game with three minutes to go.

That looked to have given Tenby the win but Josh Wellan scored in the 92nd minute to send the game to extra time.

Chris O’Sullivan then put Goodwick ahead but in the second period of extra time Wayne O’Sullivan scored an own goal to level the game at 3-3.

Neither side could find a winner and it meant penalties would be needed.Goodwick held their nerve to seal a 3-2 shootout win.

The final will take place at the Bridge Meadow Stadium in Haverfordwest on Thursday, May 5.
