Emlyn score ten tries in win over Pembroke

NEWCASTLE EMLYN scored ten tries against Pembroke on Saturday (Apr 23) as they maintained their place at the top of League 1 West.

Gareth Thomson got the first try of the game for the visitors and Mike Jones added the extras.

Elliot Rees then scored an unconverted try before Llyr Davies grabbed Emlyn’s third try and Jones added the extras to make it 19-0.

Pembroke then hit back with a penalty and a try from Josh Hicks who barged his way over under the posts despite the best efforts of a number of Emlyn players.

Emlyn then secured their bonus point when Dean James touched down for their fourth try and Jones again added the extras.

Dafydd Evans scored an unconverted try and Aled Davies also went over and Jones’ conversion made it 38-10.

More tries followed from Elliott Rees before Pembroke pulled another try back.

Alex Williams then scored for Emlyn and the home side then went over for their third try of the game.

Mike Jones and Dan Havard went over for late converted tries to make the final score 64-24.

Newcastle Emlyn are in action again on Saturday, April 30, as they host Penclawdd.
