Evans’ strike seals Narberth progress

narberthlogoNARBERTH progressed to the Quarter Finals of the Senior Cup following a one goal victory at Fishguard Sports last Saturday (Dec 13). Fishguard keeper, Carl Woodhouse was called in to action early on, as he saved with his feet to deny Narberth Player/Manager Matthew Price. Meanwhile, at the other end, Keegan Summers fired over the crossbar for Fishguard.

The all-important goal came after 35 minutes when Narberth striker Tony Evans struck a low shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the area. The second half was a similar story, Fishguard’s Steve Lewis forced a save out of Narberth keeper John Durbridge. Narberth substitute Adi Jones hit the post and Fishguard keeper Woodhouse denied Jordan Williams late on.

Narberth’s Player/Manager Matthew Price said: “It was a hard fought game, typical cup tie, credit to Fishguard, we are very pleased to be in the quarter finals.” In the quarter finals Narberth have been drawn away to Tenby. Narberth: John Durbridge, Dorian Davies, Iestyn Scourfield, Justin Blewitt, Toby Lancaster, Marc Hughes (Adi Jones) Calum O’Connell, Jordan Williams, Tony Evans, Matthew Price, Morgan Preece (Ashley Williams), Not Used: Richard Henton.
