Margam (137-8) drew with Felinfoel (205-5)

FELINFOEL were crowned champions of Division Three after their game with Margam finished in a draw on Saturday (Aug 27).
Margam won the toss and elected to field first but Felinfoel batted well to reach 205-5 from their 50 overs.
They lost Scott Davies early on when he was caught by Liam Lewis off the bowling of Luke O’Connor, while Leighton Bonnell also fell cheaply when he was caught by Michael Bond off the bowling of Lewis.

Andrew Thomas and Rhys Harries then shared 63 for the third wicket to lead Felinfoel’s recovery.
Thomas was then caught by Liam Lewis off the bowling of Ian Allsopp for a score of 35.
Harries and Craig Richards then shared 101 runs for the fourth wicket to take Felinfoel close to 200.
That partnership was broken when Craig Richards was bowled by Luke O’Connor for a score of 61 which came off 62 balls.
Harries fell soon after when he was bowled by Bond for a score of 69.
Callum Jenkins and Gareth Smith both finished not out to guide Felinfoel to a good total of 205-5.
In reply, Margam lost Matthew Jenkins when he was caught by Gareth Smith off the bowling of Anthony Matthias.
Tom Rouse scored 13 before he was bowled by Smith while Luke O’Connor scored 14 before he was caught by Craig Richards off the bowling of Matthias.
Richard Pass scored 17 but he was then bowled by Jonathan Evans who also bowled Gareth Baker for a score of three.
Craig Richards bowled Liam Lewis while Evans returned to also bowl Jonathan Evans, with both batsmen out for scores of one.

Anish Patel was trapped leg before wicket by Leighton Bonnell for a score of 13, which included a four and a six, but his wicket left Margam heading for defeat on 96-8.
Felinfoel were thwarted in their attempts for victory as John Wellington hit six fours and a six to finish not out on 45.
It wasn’t enough for Margam, however, as they finished well short of their target on 137-8.
Felinfoel could still celebrate success and were presented with the Division Three trophy prior to the Margam game on Saturday (Sept 3).
