FISHGUARD will be promoted to Division 1 as Champions of the second Division after they beat Camrose 5-0 on Tuesday (Apr 16).
They could have achieved that feat on Saturday (Apr 13), but they were beaten 2-1 by second place Merlins Bridge Seconds, preventing the visitors from being crowned champions.
Simon and Nathan Thomas both scored for the Wizards as they took the lead early on while Lewis Banks scored Fishguard’s only goal of the game.
On Tuesday, two goals from Keegan Summers and others from Matt Harries, Niall Kinsella and an own goal sealed a 5-0 win over Camrose.
It has been an excellent season for Fishguard who have won twenty of their twenty-three games so far with a positive goal difference of just over 70.
It also means that Fishguard return to the top flight of Pembrokeshire football for the first time since 2002/03.
Their final game of the season sees them taking on Kilgetty on Saturday, April 27.
